Do I need a Twitter/X API key or a developer account?

No. X-Relay never asks for an X API key, an app of your own or a developer account, and there is nothing to install or code — you add a handle with one command in Discord or Telegram and monitoring starts on the next check.

That matters more than it sounds: a developer key is where most do-it-yourself monitoring quietly dies. X's developer platform is priced for companies shipping apps, and when a key hits its limit the alerts stop without anyone telling you.

How often does X-Relay re-check a tracked account?

We re-check a tracked account as often as every 300 ms. Polling cadence is the part of the chain we actually control, so it is the only speed figure we publish as a promise — how long a post then takes to appear in your chat also depends on X, on Discord or Telegram, and on how large the alert is.

Our record is detection as fast as 281 ms — one result out of 51,655 measurements taken over 72 hours. That is a record, not an average, and it describes the moment we saw the post, not the moment the alert landed in a chat.

Cadence is also the one thing you can buy more of: Turbo is a paid add-on at $9, $19, $29 or $39 that raises how often your accounts are re-checked. It is not a fifth plan and unlocks no features.

Where do the alerts land — Discord or Telegram?

Both — and the same tracker can feed both, so you never build it twice. In Discord the bot posts into a channel you choose; in Telegram alerts go to your direct chat with the bot, or to any group or channel you have added it to.

In Discord a webhook is supported but optional — the bot can post on its own, so server permissions never block your first tracker. In Telegram alerts arrive through a normal bot chat and reach your phone by push.

Can I filter what reaches my channel?

Yes. Every tracker carries its own activity filter: tweets, replies, quotes, retweets, profile edits, follows, unfollows and Spaces can each be switched on or off, so an account you track for launches does not bury you in its replies.

Routing is per-tracker too: each one names the channel or chat it delivers to, so KOL posts, contract drops and profile edits can be split into separate rooms instead of stacking in one feed nobody reads. One trade-off is worth stating: a filter set too tight looks exactly like a broken tracker, since silence is the same either way.

Can I monitor private (protected) accounts?

No — public accounts only. X-Relay reads what a logged-out visitor to x.com can read, so protected accounts, direct messages and anything behind a follow request are out of reach, and no monitoring tool that plays by X's rules can honestly promise otherwise.

If a tracked account goes protected there is nothing left to read, and its alerts stop. Two neighbouring cases are covered: suspended and renamed handles are reported to you rather than failing in silence, because a permanently dead tracker looks identical to one that has nothing to say.

What a monitoring alert looks like

Every alert is actionable on one screen: who moved, what changed, when, and a link to the source. A contract alert carries market data and buy buttons; a reply alert carries the post it answers; a profile alert carries the old value beside the new one — the change is the signal.
