Quick answer: These are not competing products, they are opposite models — and one of them got much more expensive. X Pro, the tool formerly called TweetDeck, is a web dashboard you read; it sends no notifications anywhere. It also stopped being available on the cheaper X tiers: as of March 2026 it requires X Premium+, $40/month (checked August 2026 on X's own help pages). What changed with X Pro pricing

This is the part most comparison articles have not caught up with. TweetDeck was free for years, then became a perk of X Premium at $8/month. On 26 March 2026 X moved X Pro access to Premium+ only, without notice.

So the honest cost comparison is no longer "free dashboard versus paid bot". X Pro is $40/month. X-Relay's plans run $15–$69/month, and none of them require an X subscription at all.

The real difference: pull versus push

A dashboard is a pull tool. It arranges information beautifully and waits for you to look at it. Columns refresh live, so the moment you are watching, you see everything. The moment you are not, you see nothing, and it keeps no record of what you missed beyond scrollback.

A tracker is a push tool. It watches on your behalf and interrupts you when something you defined as important happens. You are not required to be present. That is the entire value, and it is why the two tools do not really compete — plenty of traders run both.

The question that decides it is simple: how many hours a day can you actually stare at a screen? If the answer is "all of them", a dashboard is genuinely excellent and cheaper per feature. If the answer is anything else, every hour you are away is an hour of uncovered risk, and no amount of dashboard quality fixes that.

• Cover the hours you are not there. Most of the day, for most people.
• Reach the app where you already are. Alerts land in the Discord or Telegram you keep open anyway, not in a tab you have to remember to check.

A live column updates as X pushes to it, which feels instantaneous — because you are already looking. A tracker has to detect, process and deliver. The setup that actually works: use X Pro when you are at the desk doing research, and let a tracker cover everything else.
