Quick answer: Catching a contract the second it lands takes three things, and most tools have one or two: reading the address from a link as well as from raw text, reading it in replies and not just top-level posts, and attaching market data so you are not pasting a base58 string into a chart while the candle runs. The three things that actually matter

Reading a contract out of a link

This is the one most people never think to check, and it silently costs the most. A large share of accounts never post a raw address — they post a pump.fun coin page, a DexScreener pair, a Birdeye token or an explorer page. To a tool matching address-shaped strings, those posts contain no contract at all.

It is worse than it sounds, because X rewrites links. Every URL ships as a shortened link and even the human-readable version is truncated with an ellipsis, so the address is genuinely absent from the visible text. Recovering it means expanding the link and reading the address out of the URL path. Ask any vendor directly whether they do this; the answer separates the tools that catch a launch post from the ones that forward it empty.

Reading it in replies

Contracts are frequently dropped in a reply under an announcement rather than in the announcement itself, often minutes later. A tool covering only top-level posts hands you the hype and skips the address, without any error to indicate it. There is a related trap: X marks every post after the first in a thread as a reply, so a tool that handles replies poorly can also drop parts two through five of a thread — which is exactly where a ticker or address tends to appear.

Attaching the market data

An address on its own is homework. Copying it into a chart tool, waiting for the page, and reading the liquidity takes twenty to thirty seconds even when you are already awake — which is more than the difference between any two tools' delivery speed.
